If oxwort is smeared with vinegar, it helps and even cures bahak and a disease in which the skin peels. The leaves of the plant are weaker than its root.

The root of the oxwort with barley flour counteracts erysipelas, as does the root of abu jalsus; it dissolves pigs if it is applied to them mixed with fat.

Wounds and ulcers.
It is applied with wax to all ulcers and especially to fire burns.

The root of the oxwort tans the stomach, and its decoction with water sweetened with honey helps with jaundice and pain in the spleen.
