And calculia (Greek “poor counting” from a “denial”) is a condition opposite to amusia - a violation of recognition, discrimination and, therefore, an inability to perform amodal recognition. With alculia there is no defect in perception.
Acalculia can accompany any disturbances of attention, memory, thinking, etc. It develops following the disease that caused it, visual fatigue, etc., less often as an independent disorder. Alculins are characterized by the inability to master arithmetic even after repeating the same action or operating with the same number many times. This defect should include not only impaired naming of the results of simple arithmetic operations, but also errors in complex operations, where individual operations are performed using dummies or visual comparison of letters.
