Acrocrania

Translated from Greek, acrocrania means “head of the skull.” This diagnosis is made if the skull has a protruding part. With this disease, more than half of people also have scoliosis. Acrocrania is most often diagnosed in men aged 60-70 years; in women, this disease is much less common.

Congenital acrocrania is inherited in an autosomal dominant manner, acquired acrocrania usually manifests itself against the background of other diseases (for example, osteoporosis, osteochondrosis, rickets and others). A symptom of acrocrania is headaches, so this may be the reason for the diagnosis of headaches. In this case, deformation of the skull is not necessarily observed.
