Adenovirus (Adenovirus)

Adenovirus is a virus belonging to the group of DNA viruses. It causes infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract in humans, the symptoms of which resemble a cold.

Adenoviruses can cause various diseases, such as rhinitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis and pneumonia. They may also be responsible for the development of conjunctivitis, cystitis and gastroenteritis.

Adenoviruses are transmitted from person to person through airborne droplets, contact with contaminated surfaces, or through contaminated water. They can also be spread among people living in close contact, such as military personnel, boarding school students and athletes.

Symptoms of adenovirus infection include runny nose, cough, sore throat, headache, fever and fatigue. In some cases, eye-related symptoms such as conjunctivitis may occur. Symptoms usually begin within a few days of infection and can last from several days to several weeks.

There is currently no specific treatment for adenovirus infection. Treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms and may include taking antipyretic and pain medications, as well as rest and increasing fluid intake. In severe cases, hospitalization may be required.

Vaccination can prevent some forms of adenovirus infection. Currently, there are vaccines against adenoviruses that are used for the prevention of military and other risk groups.

In general, adenovirus is a common virus that causes upper respiratory tract infections in humans. Although infections are usually not serious and treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms, in some cases they can lead to more serious complications. Therefore, it is important to follow preventive measures such as frequent hand washing and avoiding close contact with infected people.

Adenoviruses are a small group of viruses that can cause serious illness in humans. One of the most common types of adenoviruses is called adenovirus type 7 (Ad7). It is only 7 nanometers in size and is unlike other viruses. While the virus can spread through the air, infection with type 7 virus occurs through contact with an infected person who touches surfaces on which the virus can survive.

Adenovirus infection is usually transmitted through contaminated hands, premises or household items. Infection with adenovirus can also occur through airborne droplets.
