Adolor: an anti-inflammatory drug based on ketorolac

Adolor is a drug belonging to the group of anti-inflammatory drugs based on pyrrolysine carboxylic acid derivatives. The active substance is ketorolac, which has the international name "Ketorolac". The drug is produced by a Russian pharmaceutical group and is presented in the form of film-coated tablets with a dosage of 10 mg.

The drug is used to treat moderate to severe pain, such as postoperative pain, joint pain due to injuries with ligament rupture, dislocations, sprains, back and muscle pain. However, the use of Adolor has a number of contraindications, such as hypersensitivity to aspirin and other NSAIDs, nasal polyps, angioedema, bronchospasm, bronchial asthma, gastric and duodenal ulcers, impaired renal function, hypovolemia, dehydration, high risk of postoperative bleeding or incomplete arrest bleeding, impaired hematopoiesis, cerebral hemorrhage, pregnancy, breastfeeding (breastfeeding must be stopped for the period of treatment) and early childhood (up to 2 years).

When using Adolor, side effects may occur, such as dry mouth, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, feeling of fullness in the stomach, peptic ulcers, gastritis, liver dysfunction, flatulence, constipation, rectal bleeding, stomatitis, headache , pallor, dizziness, nervousness, depression, drowsiness, asthenia, sweating, edema, dyspnea, bronchial asthma, impaired taste and vision, vasodilation, increased urination, oliguria, glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, acute renal failure, myalgia, urticaria, itching, purpura , pain at the injection site.

When Adolor is used simultaneously with certain drugs, interactions are possible, for example, incompatibility with lithium drugs, pentoxifylline, probenecid, anticoagulants (in high doses) and other NSAIDs. It should also be taken into account that Adolor reduces the diuretic effect of furosemide in individuals with normovolemia, and with simultaneous use of Adolor with methotrexate, an increase in its toxic effect may occur.

Before using Adolor, you should consult your doctor, especially if you have problems with the kidneys, liver, heart, stomach or intestines, or if you are taking other medications or have allergic reactions to medications. It is not recommended to use Adolor for a long period of time or in high doses without a doctor's prescription.
