Advancement of the lower jaw without throwing the head
Another method of opening is to advance the lower jaw without throwing the head back. Always perform this method if you suspect head or spinal injuries. For injuries caused by severe impact, such as car accidents, falls from great heights, diving or sports, it should be assumed that the victim has a similar injury. In this case, instead of the head-throw method with chin lift, the lower jaw thrust method without head-throw is used to limit head and neck movements to a minimum. Grasp the corners of the lower jaw with the fingers of both hands and push it forward. Since your hands are busy, you will have to cover the victim's nose with your cheek or the thumbs of both hands while blowing air twice into the victim's lungs.
