Alcohol increases the risk of cancer

Experts from Boston Women's Hospital released the results of a 28-year study, according to which it became clear that drinking alcohol, even in moderate quantities, increases the risk of developing breast cancer.

Scientists observed 100 thousand women over 30 years of age for three decades and noted that drinking 3-6 glasses of wine or one bottle of beer per week increased the likelihood of developing a malignant tumor significantly.

Experts note that alcohol causes an increase in the level of the hormone estrogen in the blood, which stimulates the growth of tumor cells. However, scientists have not proven that alcohol contributes to the occurrence of cancer.

Thus, doctors advise women not to exceed the permissible limit for alcohol consumption and to visit a mammologist every six months in order to detect a tumor in the breast in time.
