Alginatol

Alginatol: an effective hemostatic agent

Alginatol is a hemostatic agent produced in Russia by the company Nizhpharm. Its active ingredient is sodium alginate, which is also known under the synonym "Natalsid". The drug is available in the form of suppositories for children containing 0.25 g of sodium alginate.

The main use of Alginatol is associated with the treatment of various diseases of the rectum. It is recommended for patients with chronic anal fissures, chronic bleeding hemorrhoids, proctosigmoiditis and inflammation in the rectum in the postoperative period.

The advantage of Alginatol is its hemostatic effect. Sodium alginate has the property of quickly binding to damaged vessels and forming a gel-forming structure that helps stop bleeding. This makes the drug especially useful in the treatment of anal fissures and hemorrhoids.

However, before using Alginatol, contraindications must be taken into account. The drug is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to sodium alginate or other components of the drug. In rare cases, allergic reactions to the drug may occur.

At the moment, information on the interaction of Alginatol with other drugs is limited. There is also no data on the possibility of overdose of the drug or on any special instructions for its use.

Alginatol is a product of the Russian pharmaceutical company Nizhpharm and is widely used in clinical practice for the treatment of diseases of the rectum. However, for detailed information about the drug and its use, it is recommended to consult the relevant literature or consult a medical specialist.
