Composition - Active ingredient - sucralfate.

Indications for use:

  1. Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (prevention and treatment)
  2. Damage to the gastrointestinal mucosa caused by stress or NSAID use (prevention and treatment)
  3. Hyperacid gastritis
  4. Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  5. Hyperphosphatemia in uremic patients on hemodialysis

Contraindications:

  1. Hypersensitivity
  2. Dysphagia or gastrointestinal obstruction
  3. Bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract
  4. Kidney failure
  5. Pregnancy
  6. Children's age (up to 4 years)

Side effect:

  1. Dyspepsia, constipation or diarrhea
  2. Pain (abdominal, back, headache)
  3. Dizziness, drowsiness
  4. Dry mouth, nausea
  5. Skin rash and itching, urticaria

Interaction:

  1. Reduces the absorption of fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin), tetracycline, theophylline, phenytoin
  2. Increases (mutually) the toxicity of drugs containing aluminum (especially in patients with renal failure)
  3. Activity is reduced by antacids and histamine H2 receptor blockers

Special instructions:

  1. In patients with renal failure, monitoring the level of serum aluminum and phosphates is necessary - the appearance of drowsiness and convulsions may indicate the toxic effects of aluminum.
  2. When used in combination, antacids should be administered 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after sucralfate.
  3. Administration through a nasogastric tube may result in the formation of a bezoar with other drugs or parenteral nutrition solutions (due to protein binding).
