Amitriptyline-Grindeks is an antidepressant belonging to the group of non-selective neuronal uptake inhibitors. It is produced by the Latvian company Grindeks Public Joint Stock Company and has the international name Amitriptyline. It is also known by the synonyms Amitriptyline, Amineurin, Amiptyline, Amiton, Amitriptyline Lechiva, Amitriptyline Nycomed, Amitriptyline-Akos, Amitriptyline-LENS, Amitriptyline-Slovakofarm, Amitriptyline-Ferein, Amitriptyline hydrochloride, Apo-Amitriptyline, Vero-Amitriptyline and Damilena m.

Amitriptyline-Grindeks is available in the form of tablets with a dosage of 10 mg and 25 mg. The active substance is amitriptyline.

This drug is used to treat various mental illnesses, such as depression, depressive syndrome, schizophrenic psychoses, anxiety-depressive conditions of various origins, mixed emotional disorders, behavioral disorders, psychogenic anorexia, nocturnal enuresis (auxiliary treatment) and severe pain of a neurogenic nature.

However, the use of Amitriptyline-Grindeks has a number of contraindications. These are hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, glaucoma, epilepsy, prostatic hyperplasia, bladder atony, paralytic ileus, history of myocardial infarction, use of MAO inhibitors in the previous 2 weeks, pregnancy, lactation and childhood (up to 6 years).

When using Amitriptyline-Grindeks, side effects may occur, such as dry mouth, urinary retention, constipation, blurred vision, accommodation, increased sweating, tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, anxiety, delusional and hallucinatory states, erectile dysfunction and decreased libido.
