Anemia Postinfectious

Postinfectious anemia is a type of anemia that occurs after an infectious disease. Anemia occurs in patients with previously normal hemoglobin levels and is not associated with dysfunction of the hematopoietic organs. In this case, the decrease in hemoglobin is caused by a decrease in the concentration of iron in the patient’s body. Typically, the most common cause of post-infectious anemia is iron deficiency during convalescence from infectious diseases or chronic infection.

Anemia is a decrease in the amount of hemoglobin (the protein that carries oxygen) and red blood cells (
