Hemostatic Sponge

A hemostatic sponge is a local hemostatic agent, which is a dry porous mass. It is obtained from donated blood or cattle blood and contains thrombin, thrombokinase and some salts.

A hemostatic sponge is used to stop bleeding by activating blood clotting. Upon contact with blood, the sponge quickly swells, filling the wound or damaged vessel. Due to the substances contained in it, a cascade of blood clotting reactions is triggered, as a result of which a blood clot is formed, blocking the damaged vessel.

Hemostatic sponges are widely used in medicine, especially in surgery and traumatology. They allow you to effectively and quickly stop bleeding from wounds, as well as during operations on organs prone to bleeding. The sponges are easy to use, provide a reliable hemostatic effect and reduce surgery time.
