Angiomatous meningioma (angiomatous meningioma) is a rare type of brain tumor that grows from meningeal cells. Like other meningiomas, angiomatous meningioma can occur anywhere where meningeal cells are found, but it is most often found in the area of the occipital bone.
Angiomatous meningioma gets its name due to its ability to form new blood vessel formations that grow into the tumor itself. This can cause the tumor to bleed more and be less tractable.
