Hookworm

Hookworm disease is a parasitic intestinal disease caused by the activity of the roundworms hookworms (Ankylostoma duodenale) and necator americanus. Unlike other representatives of the nematode species, humans are the definitive hosts for these parasites, i.e. they develop and multiply inside the human body, which determines the specific clinical picture of the disease.
