Anodontia

Anodontia is the absence of teeth in a person. This can be caused by various reasons such as genetic disorders, dental disease or injury.

One of the causes of anodontia is hereditary diseases such as Down syndrome, Turner syndrome or Klinefelter syndrome. In these cases, missing teeth is one of the symptoms of these diseases.

Another cause of anodontia is tooth decay as a result of caries, pulpitis or periodontitis. When teeth are completely destroyed, they cannot be restored and cannot support other teeth.

Also, anodontia can be caused by dental trauma, such as fractures or dislocations. In this case, teeth may be completely destroyed or lost.

Anodontia may also be associated with other diseases such as diabetes or osteoporosis. These diseases can lead to tooth decay and loss of function.

Either way, missing teeth can lead to problems with eating, speaking and chewing. Therefore, if you have problems with your teeth, you need to see a dentist for diagnosis and treatment.
