Antirheumatic Drugs

Antirheumatic drugs are medications used to treat rheumatic diseases. These include:

  1. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) - ibuprofen, diclofenac, etc. They reduce pain and inflammation in arthritis.

  2. Analgesics - paracetamol and opioids. Painkillers.

  3. Glucocorticoids - prednisolone, methylprednisolone. Suppresses immunity and inflammation.

  4. Basic antirheumatic drugs - methotrexate, leflunomide, sulfasalazine. Slows down the progression of the disease.

  5. Biological drugs - TNF inhibitors, IL inhibitors, etc. Block inflammatory mediators.

  6. Immunosuppressants - cyclosporine, azathioprine. Suppress autoimmune reactions.

The use of antirheumatic drugs can relieve symptoms, slow development and prevent disability in rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other rheumatic diseases.
