Apo-Oxtrifillin

Apo-Oxtriphylline is a bronchodilator, phosphodiesterase inhibitor, produced in Canada by Apotex Inc. The international nonproprietary name of the drug is choline theophyllinate. Available in tablets of 100 mg, 200 mg and 300 mg. It has a bronchodilator and bronchodilator effect, dilates the bronchi, and makes breathing easier. Used for bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema. It acts by inhibiting phosphodiesterase and increasing the intracellular level of cAMP. Well absorbed when taken orally, maximum plasma concentration is achieved after 1-3 hours. Excreted by the kidneys. Side effects - tachycardia, headache, tremor, insomnia.
