Arteries Genital External

External genital arteries - (a.pudendae externae, pna, bna) - paired large vessels running from the internal iliac artery to the perineum and pelvic organs. One or two superficial arterial arches arise from the anterior surface of each main artery, dividing them into the deep and superficial arteries of the penis in men, and the broad uterine artery and the iliac artery deep in women. Depending on the level of branching of the internal iliac arteries, the external iliac arteries, deep and septal arteries may approach the pudendal arteries. The first two are called the genital arteries. The deep arteries form arteries of the same name with independent superficial arterial arches and are included in the system of the external pudendal artery.
