Artery of the Tympanic Cavity

The artery of the tympanic cavity (Latin: Arteírium cavítas tympaní: cavia-adjective, referring to cavy (oval pit in the skull), and tmapni, pit) is one of the arteries of the middle ear that arise from the common carotid artery slightly below the beginning of the external carotid artery. Blood supply of arterial type. Descends towards the inner ear down to the tympanic canal.
