Artery Capsular Inferior

The inferior capsular artery (lat. a. capsularis inferior) is one of the branches of the renal artery. It arises from the anterior or posterior surface of the renal artery, sometimes from its bifurcation.

The inferior capsular artery goes to the lower pole of the kidney, where it divides into anterior and posterior branches. The anterior branch anastomoses with the inferior adrenal artery, and the posterior branch anastomoses with the lumbar and genital arteries. The inferior capsular artery supplies the lower segment of the renal fibrous capsule.
