Arthrotomy of the Hip Joint According to Langenbeck

Arthrotomy of the pelvic joints according to Langenbeck (Lagerbeck’s approach) is a surgical procedure in which the lateral part of the pelvic cavity is opened through the small pelvis for the purpose of diagnosis, conservative or surgical treatment of pelvic diseases and injuries. The procedure is also called a dorsal paravesical arthrotomy. The method is used for surgical interventions in men and women.

The procedure involves cutting the skin and draining the subperitoneal space, and in some cases, the previsceral space.
