Askovertin: description, use and contraindications
Askovertin is an angioprotector produced by the Russian pharmaceutical company Diode Moscow Ecofood Plant. It is presented in tablet form and contains dihydroquercetin and ascorbic acid.
The drug is used as part of complex therapy for coronary heart disease in combination with beta-blockers, nitrates, slow calcium channel blockers and statins. It helps improve blood supply to the heart, reduce the risk of developing blood clots and alleviate the patient's condition.
Despite its effectiveness, the drug has a number of contraindications. For example, it is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, thalassemia, hyperoxaluria, oxalose and nephrolithiasis.
Possible side effects include allergic reactions and dyspepsia, although these are rare. At the moment, the interaction of the drug with other drugs, as well as data on overdose, are unknown.
