Atresia is a congenital pathology of organs, namely a violation of their connection or separation. Congenital atresia (obstruction) of the esophagus is the absence of the junction of the esophagus with the stomach or the esophagus with the mediastinum. Food either does not enter the stomach at all, or enters the mediastinum, trachea or other parts of the chest organs, which causes suffocation and requires emergency surgical intervention and long-term recovery for the victim and his child. Unfortunately, such a violation is very rare. In Russia, approximately twice as many children die from diphtheria every year. But it also affects the esophagus extremely rarely - only in one or two people out of 250. Prolapse and atresia often accompany other diseases. For example, tracheal atresia may be diagnosed if a child has a bone cyst that resembles a benign throat tumor. Esophageal atresia is accompanied by abnormal formation of the abdominal wall, perineum, chest wall or fingers (congenital teratoma). Typical symptoms for all types of esophageal obstruction include difficulty swallowing food, difficulty swallowing, increased risk of upper respiratory tract infection, vomiting, coughing, difficulty breathing, delay in the baby's chest development, ear infections, jaundice, signs of dehydration or urinary and bowel retention. . Taking into account the above, urgent hospitalization is necessary for diagnosis and treatment.
