Bayer's Symptom

***Bayer's Symptom*** is a medical term used to describe one of the symptoms associated with certain bone and joint diseases. This symptom manifests itself as swelling of the tissues that occurs around the joints, which may be due to injury or other diseases. Bayer's symptom got its name in honor of the German physician ***Otto Bayer*** (Otto Bauer, 1836-1907), who described it in his work "Atlas of the Sensible Atlas" in the 19th century. Bayer was known for his work on anatomy and physiology, but his main achievement was associated with the discovery of this symptom.

Causes of Bayer's symptom The causes of the symptom may be different. These may include injury, infection, inflammation or other diseases. However, the most common cause is trauma, where a joint becomes damaged or bruised. As a result, swelling and pain appear around the joint, which is one of the manifestations of Bayer's symptom.
