Brown Enteroenteroanastomosis

Brown EnteroEnterostomy is a surgical procedure that is used to connect two segments of intestine. This procedure can be performed for both emergency and elective surgeries.

Brown enteroenterostomy, or enteroenterostomy operation, refers to a series of operations aimed at connecting or anastomosis between two sections of the intestinal tube, most often the small and large intestine.

This operation is performed in case of obstruction of the small intestine, when its resection and anastomosis between the remaining section and the proximal part of the large intestine are necessary (it must be taken into account that most of the intestinal function in this case will be carried out by the large intestine).
