Cerebellar Imitation Phenomenon

**Cerebellar Imitation Phenomenon:** Excessive bending of the leg, at the knee, on the affected side, when the patient (suffering from epilepsy or mentally retarded) tries to reproduce the position of the legs bent in advance, with the legs in front of him.

This phenomenon is a consequence of the work of the cerebellum in humans and was discovered by one of the Canadian scientists in the mid-19th century. Dr. Joseph Babin was famous for his work in neuroscience, so he proposed naming this phenomenon after him.
