- Why is human papillomavirus dangerous?
The human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most dangerous infectious agents that can affect absolutely anyone. It knows no age or gender boundaries and strikes without regard to social status. Its presence in the body for the carrier can promise numerous health problems in the future, which is why it is necessary to respond to the situation in a timely manner and take all possible measures to treat papilloma.

Human papillomavirus is the name of a group of pathogens from the papillomavirus family. In medical and laboratory practice, it is customary to use abbreviated names - HPV or HPV.
This virus is detected on average in 70% of people and causes various diseases - from warts to malignant neoplasms. But, first of all, it is associated with the appearance on the human body of small or large warts (read how to remove a wart), condylomas, moles and, in fact, papillomas themselves.
When studying the question of what papilloma is, it must be said that both children and adults can become infected with this type of virus. Its carriers are both women and men.The main ways HPV enters the body: during childbirth and sexual intercourse, during unprotected sexual contact, through minor skin injuries. Less commonly, it is transmitted between people by touching each other; this is unlikely due to the fact that such infectious agents can exist outside the body for a limited time.
The likelihood of becoming infected with HPV is higher in swimming pools, baths, toilets - where there is high humidity. Other, but also quite rare, ways of spreading it are the use of other people's razors, towels and other personal items.

There are more than 170 strains of HPV, 27 species and 4 genera of human papillomaviruses - Alphapapillomavirus, Gammapapillomavirus, Betapapillomavirus and Mupapillomavirus. All of them are oncogenic, but there are types with a low probability of growth of malignant neoplasms (HPV 3, 6, 11, 13, 32, 34, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 51, 61, 72, 73), with an average (HPV 30, 35, 45, 52, 53, 56, 58) and high (HPV 16, 18, 31, 33, 39, 50, 59, 64, 66, 68, 70).
Note! About half of all HPV strains are not dangerous to humans, the rest pose a threat to health. Thus, the virus is found in 80% of all cases in women with cervical cancer. The human papillomavirus requires special attention due to the impossibility of completely removing it from the body; you can only reduce its activity or make it fall asleep. That is, a person infected with it remains its carrier for the rest of his life and becomes potentially dangerous to others, especially to sexual partners.
Important! To prevent infection with this virus, special vaccines are used, among which Gardasil and Cervarix are the most effective.
How to treat human papillomavirus?
All therapy comes down to achieving remission and preventing complications from the activity of the virus. Traditional medicines or folk remedies are used to treat papilloma. If obvious symptoms have already appeared - warts (read about the types of warts on the skin), moles, papillomas, then surgical intervention and various cosmetic procedures designed to remove skin formations are effective.
Treatment of human papillomavirus with medications
Most often, if a person has a strong immune system, the body itself successfully fights infectious agents and neutralizes them. This may take several months or a couple of years. If elimination does not occur, then first of all, drugs are prescribed to strengthen the immune system, taken orally. But in order to cure the human papillomavirus, you will have to take at least 1-2 courses.
Immunomodulators for the treatment of human papillomavirus
The most famous of them is Immunal, available in the form of a tincture and made from the juice of Echinacea purpurea. In addition to this, it contains ethanol and sorbitol solution. Thus, the composition is relatively natural and safe for health. The immunostimulant is sold in 50 ml bottles and requires dilution with water. The daily dose is 2.5 ml, the drug should be drunk at a time, the course of treatment is 10 days. Before treating papillomas again, you need to wait 2 weeks.
An analogue of Immunal is the usual echinacea solution, which is sold under this name.
Another quite effective drug is Reaferon, which is intended for intramuscular administration. The contents of the ampoule require dilution with isotonic sodium chloride solution. The duration of treatment to suppress the activity of the human papillomavirus is about 2 weeks, during which an average of 14 injections must be given.
A fairly good homeopathic and at the same time antiviral drug is Lymphomyosot. It is taken on average 15 drops 2 times a day, washed down with water or dissolved in it. Analogues of this drug are Ecositrin, Tonsilotren, Suprax, Tsiprolet A, Umkalor, Tranexam and Hemomycin (capsules, tablets, powder for the preparation of suspension for oral administration).
Cauterizing agents for the treatment of human papillomavirus
The most effective of them include Super clean, presented in the form of a dark liquid with a specific odor. Using a cotton pad, they need to treat areas where there are warts, moles, and papillomas 2 times a day. After a few weeks, the formation will dry out and disappear.
Analogue of Supercleaner - Solcoderm, sold as a solution for external use. You need to apply it to the affected surface with an applicator. In one session, no more than 2-3 tumors need to be treated, this should be done 2-3 times a day.
Solcoderm can be replaced Duophilm, which is also a solution. It was created specifically for lubricating the skin in areas with warts (read about the causes of warts).
). In order for the tumors to go away, the procedure must be carried out up to 3 times a day for at least a week. It should not be used on the face or genital area. Duofilm's analogue is Feresol.
If there is nothing in the medicine cabinet for the treatment of papillomas, the most common iodine for cauterizing tumors will do.
Drops should also help Papilux, which should be applied to the affected surface using a pipette 2-3 times a day. In any case, it is better to use medications than to remove papillomas surgically.
Antiviral drugs for the treatment of papillomas
They are prescribed in addition to immunomodulators to suppress HPV activity. From tablets we can recommend Isoprinosine, made from inosine pranobex. It is taken 2 tablets 3 times a day, the optimal duration of treatment is from 2 to 4 weeks. Contraindications to the use of this medicine against the human papillomavirus are gout, hyperuricemia and hypersensitivity to the components in the composition. Analogues of Isoprinosine - Gropivirin, Groprinosin, Novirin.
If we talk about subcutaneous drugs, then one of the best is Allokin-alpha, sold in ampoules of 1 mg. It is intended specifically to eliminate human papillomavirus infection and prevent its complications. To do this, it is diluted with isotonic sodium chloride solution and administered 1 mg every 2 days. One course requires 9 injections, after which the therapy should be interrupted and, if necessary, repeated. Analogs of Allokin-alpha are Panavir, Kagocel tablets and Tiloram.
Of the local remedies for eliminating papillomas that have already appeared on the skin, cream is best suited "Aldara" in bags. It should be applied to problem areas 3-4 times a day for 8 weeks and left for 8 hours. If necessary, it can be replaced with Keravort, Malavit cream-gel or Oxolinic ointment.
Treatment of human papillomavirus with folk remedies
Folk remedies are used to remove papillomas at home. Here you can use various infusions, decoctions, tinctures, and plant juices. Celandine, dandelion, garlic, and nutshells performed very well. All this is recommended to be used in combination with medications to obtain a good effect.
Below we describe step by step all the actions that need to be performed, depending on how papillomas will be treated:
- Celandine. This name fully corresponds to its capabilities, because it is truly capable of making the body clean. All you need to do is squeeze the juice out of its leaves, soak a cotton pad with it and lubricate areas with papillomas, warts, and moles. Cover them with a band-aid on top and leave them like that for several hours. This procedure should be carried out once a day until the problem is resolved.
- Garlic. You will need it to prepare an effective folk cream, for which you should clean it and grind it on a grater or blender. Next, this product needs to be combined with vodka in such an amount that the gruel turns out to be quite thick. Then the finished mixture must be applied to problem areas and fixed here with a band-aid, which must be left for several hours. The duration of treatment for papillomas at home can vary from 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the situation. By the way, it is useful to take garlic internally to suppress the activity of the papilloma virus.
- Walnut. You need to take the green, still soft shell, grind it in a meat grinder and fill a 3-liter jar with it to 75%. Then it all needs to be filled to the top with purified kerosene. This product should be infused in the basement or refrigerator for about 10 days under the lid. After this time, it must be filtered and used to lubricate the affected areas until the papillomas disappear. On average, this takes from 10 to 20 days.
- Potato. It is necessary to grate it in its purified form, squeeze the juice through gauze and wipe the affected skin with it 2-3 times a day using gauze. The minimum duration of treatment is 1 week.
- Dandelion. Pick the plants together with the “legs”, fill a 2-liter jar 75% with them and pour in the cologne. Cover the container with a lid and keep the product in a cool place for about 10 days. After this time, strain the mixture, soak a cotton pad in it and wipe the skin with it 2 times a day until the growths are eliminated.
Radical methods for removing papillomas
How to do laser removal of papilloma on the face
In the event that folk remedies and medications are ineffective, for example, with advanced papillomas, the only possible solution is surgical intervention or medical procedures. Their goal is to remove tumors.
There are several ways to cure papillomas:
- Cryodestruction. It is carried out using liquid nitrogen and can be application or aerosol. The first one is more effective and safe due to painlessness and lack of blood. But even in this case, the patient may be offered local anesthesia. To remove tumors, they are treated with cotton wool soaked in nitrogen for 5-30 seconds. After the procedure, they become white, a bubble appears in their place, and then, when it opens on its own, the skin becomes clear, only in rare cases scars remain. The price of cryodestruction in Russia is 360 rubles, in Ukraine - 150 hryvnia.
- Laser removal. This is a “mini” operation, during which the doctor anesthetizes the desired areas and acts on them with laser radiation for about 5 minutes. There is no discomfort when fighting the human papillomavirus using this method; the only side effects are mild redness, which goes away on its own after a few days. The surface is leveled and acquires its natural color 30-40 days after the operation. The price of laser therapy in Russia is 3000-2900 rubles, in Ukraine - from 1300 hryvnia.
- Electrocoagulation. This procedure involves cauterizing problem areas by exposing them to electric current of varying strength and frequency. After removing the tumors, the skin is treated with antiseptic solutions. This method prevents bleeding and infection with other infections. The session lasts from 5 to 10 minutes, recovery takes place within 1-2 weeks. The price of electrocoagulation in Russia is 590 rubles, in Ukraine - 250 hryvnia.
Another way to eliminate the consequences of the human papillomavirus is to remove tumors using the classical excision method. But this is associated with a high risk of tissue trauma, bleeding and the appearance of unsightly scars, so this method should be considered as a last resort.
How dangerous is the human papillomavirus?
The danger of this virus lies primarily in the fact that it can live in our body for a long time without revealing itself in any way, and then suddenly become the culprit of skin tumors. Usually they do not turn into cancer, but if their integrity is damaged, infectious agents spread further throughout the body. And the more dangerous the human papillomavirus, the higher the likelihood of its manifestation. Certain strains of papillomavirus cause cancer of the cervix, penis, rectum, vulva and vagina. Its carriers also have an increased likelihood of developing tumors in the lungs and larynx. Note!
