Cough-Brain or Bettolepsis syndrome is a genetic disorder of the nervous system.

The syndrome is based on an unconfirmed connection between disturbances in the functioning of neurons responsible for human thinking and movement processes, caused by errors in genes. The prevalence of this syndrome is approximately one in ten thousand newborns. This disease affects women more often than men, which suggests the influence of the female sex X chromosome.
