Dosage forms - capsules 100 mg, capsules 200 mg

Composition - Active substance: Danazol.

Indications for use - Endometriosis, especially retrocervical (in stages I-II as an independent method of treatment, in stages III-IV - before and after surgical treatment), benign neoplasms of the mammary glands, especially fibrocystic mastopathy, primary menorrhagia, premenstrual syndrome, primary isosexual precocious puberty, gynecomastia. Prevention of all types (cutaneous, abdominal, laryngeal) exacerbations of hereditary angioedema.

Contraindications - Hypersensitivity, porphyria, breast cancer, prostate cancer, genital bleeding (until the cause is determined), acute renal or liver failure, severe heart failure, diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, migraine, disorders of plasma hemostasis mechanisms, pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Side effects - Menstrual dysfunction, reduction in the size of the mammary glands, deepening of the voice, weight gain, edema, vaginitis, impaired spermatogenesis, alopecia, facial erythema, sweating, headaches, increased intracranial pressure, lumbodynia, paresthesia, neurotic reactions, emotional lability, sleep disturbances, depression, visual disturbances, thrombocytosis or thrombocytopenia, erythrocytosis, leukocytosis, increased risk of bleeding in patients with hemophilia, increased levels of transaminases, cholestasis, hepatitis, hepatoadenoma, dyspeptic manifestations (rare), seborrhea, acne, minor hirsutism, allergic skin reactions .

Interaction - Changes (not always predictable) the effect of steroid hormones, estrogens and progesterone. Increases the plasma concentration of cyclosporine antibiotics. May increase insulin requirements. Enhances the activity of antiepileptic drugs and indirect anticoagulants.

Overdose - Symptoms: headache, dizziness, tremor, convulsions, nausea, vomiting. Treatment: gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions - The level of transaminases and bilirubin in the blood serum should be periodically monitored. When prescribed to patients with diabetes mellitus, insulin dosage adjustment is necessary. During treatment, nursing mothers are advised to stop breastfeeding.
