Decloban: description of the drug and its use in dermatology
Decloban (international name - Clobetasol) is a drug from the group of drugs with glucocorticosteroid activity, produced by the Spanish company Laboratory Kuzi. The drug is available in the form of 0.5% ointment and is used to treat various skin diseases such as psoriasis, chronic eczema, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus and others. Decloban is prescribed in cases where other corticosteroids have been ineffective.
The active ingredient of Decloban - Clobetasol - is a powerful corticosteroid that can quickly and effectively eliminate inflammation and itching characteristic of skin diseases. However, this action may be accompanied by a number of side effects, such as atrophic changes on the facial skin, weakening of the skin barrier function and the development of pustular psoriasis. Therefore, the use of Decloban should be carried out with caution, with strict adherence to the instructions for use.
Contraindications to the use of Decloban include hypersensitivity to the active substance, rosacea and juvenile acne, perioral dermatitis, bacterial, viral and fungal skin infections, genital and perianal itching, pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as children (up to 1 year). Decloban lotion should not be used for infections of the scalp.
When using Decloban, it is necessary to avoid getting the drug into the eyes, as this may increase intraocular pressure. It is also important to clean the skin before applying a fresh dressing to avoid bacterial infection caused by the heat and moisture created by sealed dressings.
The interaction of Decloban with other drugs has not been studied, and there is no data on overdose.
Thus, Decloban is a powerful medicine that can effectively help in the treatment of various skin diseases. However, the use of the drug should be carried out under the supervision of a physician and in accordance with the instructions for use in order to avoid possible side effects and complications.
