Hymen Unperforated

The hymen is an elastic membrane that protects the entrance to the vagina from pathogenic bacteria and infections. It is an elastic sac that stretches when pressure is applied and contracts when the pressure is removed, returning to its original size.

The hymen is an anatomical formation in all women, regardless of the presence of sexual activity or not. Depending on their structure, three types of hymens are distinguished: the anterior wall of the vagina, the membrane of the genital septum and the posterior wall of the vagina. The number of holes on the hymen can vary from two to hundreds.
