Diencephalic syndrome

Diencephalic syndrome is a condition characterized by insomnia, hyperventilation, tachycardia, arterial hypertension, extrasystoles, depression and even hypertensive disease, which is caused by dysfunction of the suprachiasmatic nucleus.

The assumption that these nuclei are the root cause of all of the above arose thanks to the work of the Autonomic Function of the Lungs. The fact is that acetylcholine released from these nuclei regulates the diencephalon, which is associated with the functioning of the autonomic and endocrine systems. Studies have revealed that in animals, when the hippocampus is poisoned with neurotoxins, the functioning of its nerve cells located in the diencephalic region is disrupted, and therefore the functioning of the whole organism is disrupted, causing a number of symptoms of the syndrome.
