Doxorubicin-Lance: antitumor antibiotic from Russia

Doxorubicin-Lance is an antitumor antibiotic produced in Russia by Lance-Pharm. Doxorubicin-Lance contains the active substance doxorubicin, which is an anthracycline antibiotic. This drug is used in the treatment of various types of malignant tumors, including breast, lung, bladder, thyroid, ovarian, bone and soft tissue tumors.

Doxorubicin-Lance is produced in the form of a lyophilized powder for the preparation of injection solutions of 50 mg and 10 mg. It is synonymous with other drugs such as Adriamycin, Adriblastine, Blastocin and Rastocin. Doxorubicin-Lance belongs to the group of antitumor antibiotics.

The drug is used for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic and myeloblastic leukemia, malignant Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, as well as for the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas, Wilms tumors, osteogenic sarcoma, breast, lung and bladder cancer.

Despite its effectiveness, Doxorubicin-Lance has a number of contraindications and side effects. It should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to hydroxybenzoates, as well as in cases of severe suppression of bone marrow function due to the use of other chemotherapeutic drugs or radiation therapy.

In addition, Doxorubicin-Lance is not recommended for leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, severe liver and kidney dysfunction, acute hepatitis, bilirubinemia, severe heart disease, gastric and duodenal ulcers, bleeding, tuberculosis, cystitis (intravesical administration), during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

For patients over 70 years of age and children under 2 years of age, the frequency of cardiotoxic effects of the drug may increase, so its use in such cases should be limited. You also need to be careful when prescribing Doxorubicin-Lance to patients with organic heart disease, as this may increase the risk of developing cardiotoxic effects when using it.

Side effects of Doxorubicin-Lance may include nausea, vomiting, hair loss, blood problems, mouth ulcers and diarrhea. Cardiotoxicity may also develop, which may be manifested by increased heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, and/or decreased cardiac contractility.

When prescribing Doxorubicin-Lance, patients must carefully evaluate the benefits of its use in comparison with the risk of possible side effects. It is important to follow your doctor's recommendations and monitor your health during treatment.
