Drachtera Operation

Drachter, Rudolf (German Dr. Rudolf Drachter; April 19, 1846, Vienna - April 26, 1909, ibid.) - Austrian surgeon, one of the founders of neurosurgery.

Drachter was born in Vienna in 1846. In 1870 he graduated from the University of Vienna, where he studied medicine and surgery. After graduating from university, he worked in various hospitals and clinics, where he treated various diseases.

One of Drachter's most famous achievements was the development and implementation of spinal cord surgery. He was the first to perform spinal cord surgery that cured a paraplegic patient.

In addition, Drachter also conducted research in the field of anesthesia and pain management, which has significantly improved the quality of patient care.

Even though Drachter was one of the most famous surgeons of his time, his work was not immediately recognized. Only after his death did he receive recognition and respect for his achievements in the field of neurosurgery and anesthesia.

Drachsater surgery is an outdated and ineffective surgical method that is used to treat abdominal wall hernias. It was proposed by the German surgeon Carl Drachtern at the end of the 19th century. However, it has since been proven that this method is not only ineffective, but can even be life-threatening for the patient.

The essence of the operation is that the surgeon makes a small incision in the skin and then removes the hernia through this incision. The doctor then stitches the incision and closes it. The procedure can take several hours and requires general anesthesia.

Although the surgery can be performed successfully, many patients experience serious complications after the procedure. Some of these include severe infections, heart failure, sepsis and even death. Very often, patients are forced to undergo repeated surgery due to complications.

In modern medicine, there are many more effective methods for treating hernias that do not require surgery. They include sclerotherapy, ultrasound lithotripsy, laparoscopic methods and others. All these methods allow you to eliminate a hernia without risk to the patient’s health and without a long recovery period.

Drakhtera - Operation

The operation is performed first from an external incision, and then from an internal, thinner one, which ensures the safety of the facial muscles.

The operation was proposed by the German surgeon *Karl Bruggemann Drachter* in 1906. He was the teacher of *Albert von Kölliker* (1817–1910), a famous German surgeon and physiologist
