Duphaston

Duphaston: a drug for the treatment of hormonal disorders

Duphaston is a drug that contains dydrogesterone, one of the progesterone hormones. This drug is produced in the Netherlands by Dufar and Solvay Pharma. It is used to treat various hormonal disorders.

Dydrogesterone contained in Duphaston has a pronounced progesterone effect. The drug is used for the treatment of endometriosis, infertility caused by luteal insufficiency, habitual and threatened miscarriage, premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, secondary amenorrhea (in combination with estrogens), dysfunctional uterine bleeding and hormone replacement therapy during menopause.

Despite the effectiveness of Duphaston, it has some contraindications. The drug is not recommended for Dubin-Johnson syndrome and Rotor syndrome. Breakthrough bleeding is also possible, which can be controlled by increasing the dose.

The interaction of Duphaston with other drugs has not been sufficiently studied, so you need to be careful when using it together with other drugs. Overdoses of Duphaston have not been described, but if the dose is exceeded, side effects may occur.

It is important to note that when using Duphaston in combination with estrogens, you need to be especially careful if you have diseases of the cardiovascular system, impaired renal function, diabetes, epilepsy and migraine.

In general, Duphaston is an effective drug for the treatment of hormonal disorders, but its use should be under the supervision of a physician. Before starting to use this drug, you must consult a specialist.
