Enap-Nl

Enap-NL: Combination therapy for the control of arterial hypertension

Arterial hypertension (or high blood pressure) is one of the most common diseases of the cardiovascular system, which requires constant monitoring and treatment. To achieve target blood pressure levels, it is often necessary to use combination therapy, including several drugs with different mechanisms of action.

One such combination drug, Enap-NL, manufactured by Krka dd/Vector in Slovenia, is a combination of an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (Enalapril) and a diuretic (Hydrochlorothiazide). Enap-NL is widely used to treat hypertension in patients in whom combination therapy is the most effective approach.

The main components of the drug - enalaprilril maleate and hydrochlorothiazide - have their own unique properties that interact to achieve optimal blood pressure control. Enalapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor that blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, which in turn leads to vasodilation and a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance. Hydrochlorothiazide, in turn, is a thiazide diuretic that helps remove excess salt and water from the body, which also helps lower blood pressure.

Enap-NL is available in the form of tablets with different dosages, for example, 10 mg enalaprilril maleate and 12.5 mg hydrochlorothiazide. The dosage of the drug should be determined by the doctor depending on the individual needs of the patient.

Like any other medicine, Enap-NL may have some side effects. The most common side effects include orthostatic effects (including hypotension), dizziness, fatigue, headaches, cough, nausea and diarrhea. If any undesirable reactions occur, you should consult a doctor.

Enap-NL has a number of contraindications, including anuria, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, angioedema associated with taking angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Before starting treatment, you must consult your doctor and inform about all existing diseases and medications you are taking.

It is recommended to refer to current sources of information and consult with a medical specialist or pharmacist for detailed information about the drug Enap-NL and its use.
