**Ependymogliomas** are rare malignant tumors of the nervous system that are composed of two types of cells: neurons and glial cells.
**Origin of the cell** a). The ependyma is the inner layer of the spinal cord, which consists of glial cells and retains cerebrospinal fluid. If a malignant tumor forms from this tissue, it is called **ependymoblastoma**. b). Glioma is a more widespread tumor of neuroglia. If the tumor originates from them and contains at least some structures of neuroectodermal origin, then such a tumor is called astralymphoidentomeoblastoma; the type of cells that characterize the tumor is called anaplastic oligodendroglial tumor.
