Erythema Nodosum Chronic

This is a chronic disease that is characterized by redness of the skin, the appearance of reddish-purple painful swellings and pea-shaped nodules, and their rapid disappearance. The nodules are usually located in the lower legs, thighs, feet, hands and buttocks. Sometimes they can appear on the inner thighs and shoulders. The reasons for the development of this disease are not fully understood. The disease continues for a long period of time, in most cases ending in recovery. It can appear either once or constantly recur. Stress, long walking, excessive physical activity, hypothermia or overheating, and respiratory infections play a big role in this. The treatment actively uses local use of corticosteroid drugs, in particular interferon-containing ointments and creams, ultraviolet irradiation
