**Posterior fascia of the foot** (Latin *fascia cruris*; English foot fascia) - is an indirect thin skin fold of the intermuscular space, covering the back surface of the foot. Made of two longitudinal layers. One layer of the inner surface has a fan-shaped structure and is thickened along the midline. The dorsal layer has transverse striations and is divided into the anterior and posterior sections of the ankle at the level of the first metatarsophalangeal joint. The fascia of the foot is of great clinical importance in orthopedics for injuries to muscles, tendons and bone fractures, often resulting from injuries to the hindfoot.
