Fistula Congenital

A congenital fistula is a channel connecting the body cavities with the environment, present from birth, or appearing in utero, passing through any structure in the body and usually healed by infants. This is a dangerous condition that can lead to serious complications if left untreated. Fistula can have many causes, such as infections, trauma, tumors or genetic disorders. Symptoms may include increased pus production, severe pain, fever, digestive problems, and general ill health. Treatment of congenital fistulas requires surgery to close the canals and prevent further harm to the child's health. Children are at higher risk of infections and other fistula-related complications than adults. The risk increases if there is an abscess at the site of the fistula or if the fistula is directly opened
