Flyktenu is a small pinkish-yellowish nodule, or several nodules, formed first on the conjunctival and then on the corneal layer. The node itself does not cause pain, it goes away on its own, but it poses a danger of developing a chronic infection.
Small pink nodules that appear on the mucous membrane and on the cornea itself are sometimes accompanied by severe itching and slight tearing. Their appearance occurs due to the accumulation of protein at the site of inflammation, as a result of which small ulcers appear. Sometimes infections appear in the inner corners of the eye due to the reflux of mucus that gets there.
