Yaws is a potentially dangerous disease for humans. The third form of yaws is considered to be the nodular form, when predominantly peripheral lymphoid organs, skin, and skin folds are affected. Patients may experience boils and carbuncles. There is a tendency for the recurrence of pustular lesions even against the background of immunocorrective therapy for the underlying disease. Yaws is called false leprosy. Before its appearance, patients were treated with anti-leprosy therapy, but the disease was not treatable.
