Ganglioma

**Ganglioma** (ganglion; translated from Latin - “ganglion”) or glomangioma is a benign formation that develops from individual cells of the nervous system. Blood vessels and nerves are at the center of this tumor.

Most often it occurs due to inheritance of genes from parents, but it also occurs as a result of mutations. Depending on which nerve cells are involved in the formation of ganglioma, several types are distinguished.

One of the most common is schwannoma - it is formed by transformation of nerve cells. This type of cancer can spread throughout the body through the bloodstream, affecting nearby organs and tissues.

Signs of a gangliomas depend on its size. If it does not increase over time, it may not cause discomfort to the patient. However, intensive growth leads to pain in the tumor area, as well as disruption of the functioning of nearby organs.

Gangliomas can appear as a tumor of various sizes, which becomes sensitive during manipulation. Such formations are usually painless in the early stages. For large tumors, pain appears depending on the degree of nerve damage, and if the pain is intense, you should immediately consult a doctor. Gangliomas in some cases increase in size in a short period of time, which can negatively affect the patient's condition.

**The disease is diagnosed** using ultrasound diagnostics. In addition, the patient undergoes an MRI and CT scan to clarify the location of the tumor and determine the degree of development of the disease. The images can help in making an accurate diagnosis.

The treatment of this disease involves excision of the tumor using a special technique. Laser or cryotherapy removal can also be used. Sometimes they resort to chemotherapy. It all depends on the shape and size. Gangliomas are a dangerous disease that people suffer from for years, and as a result, there is a risk of complications. Therefore, it is important to undergo regular medical examinations and, if any signs arise, immediately contact a specialist. It is very important to get diagnosed, consult with doctors and prevent possible consequences, thus increasing life expectancy and the quality of every day. Ganglioma is difficult to treat, which is why it is so important to detect it in a timely manner.
