Gastrostomy According to Serebrennikov

Gastrostomy (gastrostomy) is a modern way of feeding patients with obstruction or narrowing of the pylorus of the stomach, in the case of tumors, after surgical treatment of the gastrointestinal tract.

Gastroesophageal (esophageal) and/or gastric reflux in the form of regurgitation back into the oral cavity, “reverse reflux” occurs, vomiting with pain in the chest area, stool disorders. For patients in the older age group, this feeding method is not optimal and inconvenient; as a rule, it requires additional devices (special tubes for introducing food into the oral cavity). A gastrostomy tube may be placed in the hospital. Prescribing a gastrostomy requires serious indications and consultations with specialists.
