Terminal hematuria

Terminal hematuria (lat. h. terminalis, from lat. terminalis - final; synonym - terminal hematuria) is a type of hematuria in which blood appears in the urine at the end of urination.

With terminal hematuria, bleeding occurs from the lower parts of the urinary tract - the ureters, bladder or urethra. This is due to the fact that at the beginning of urination, blood is washed away by normally flowing urine from the upper parts of the urinary system. And at the end of urination, when the volume of urine excreted decreases, blood from the underlying sections enters the urethra and becomes noticeable.

Terminal hematuria can be a symptom of inflammatory diseases of the bladder or urethra, benign prostatic hyperplasia, foreign bodies, tumors of the lower urinary tract. To determine the cause, an examination by a doctor is required.

G.u. T. (terminal hematuria) – bloody discharge due to impaired urination. It can be a symptom of a number of diseases. Bloody urine in patients with acute bleeding in the kidney leads to anemia.

Hemodynamics. With pathological separation of urine through the walls of the capillaries of the glomeruli and tubules of the lumen of the nephrons, the flow of red blood cells into the urine begins and, accordingly, the appearance of hemoglobin in the blood - hematurating (brown-red) nature of the urine. Depending on the cause, the location of capillary ruptures, the rate of bleeding with a whole bladder or residual urine, uniformly colored brown urine or urine from light pink to orange-brown is released, turning brown when standing or exposed to air. The status of urine hemoglobin is usually assessed as normal, microhematuria or gross hematuria. The daily number of red blood cells in women is 2 x 108-8 x 106/l, in men - 3-15 x 110/l. The transparency of urine will also be different if the wall of the urinary tract is intact, without impaired urination. Often the urine takes on a reddish-rusty color, acquires the smell of bleach, and its transparency changes. If blood is released from the urethra, it does not mix with urine and from the cervix
