Fetal hemoglobin or hemoglobin F is the main component of maternal blood, which serves to transfer oxygen from mother to fetus through the placenta. Hemoglobin F is the hemoglobin contained in the peripheral blood of the fetus or mother, i.e. GF in the mother’s blood is
