Hemosporidiosis

Hemosporidiosis; or Gastric protozoal infections, or food infestations (Greek: ἡμαξ + πρόσοδος + ιός) - a family of diseases caused by protozoan flagellates of the genus Haemosporidia. Heteroxenous sporozoans, parasites of mammals and humans. All diseases described within the group have the same symptoms, but are etiologically independent. They are spread by accidental consumption of infested animals.
