Genel's symptom is a neurological symptom, a change in the sensitivity and pain reaction of the skin in response to mechanical, thermal or chemical stimulation of a small area of the superficial skin during irritation with electric current. Observed when there is narrowing or cutting of the posterior columns of the spinal cord (Frey's syndrome). The symptom was named after G. Haenel, a German neurologist and psychiatrist.
One of the leading symptoms in some forms of cerebrovascular disorders, namely multiple hemorrhage, is the G.S. symptom. Agelyan (Auel) (M.P. Agulian; 1882-1917), who discovered in 1906 the combination of pyramidal insufficiency with atypical reflex contractions of tendon muscles and percussion. This symptom is named after its discoverer, Mario Auel.
For the first time, the question of the meaning of the “central reflex” was considered by G.G. Arendsom (Gaenlands)
