Indications for use:

  1. Insufficiency of the corpus luteum: habitual and threatened miscarriage (prevention), the need for surgical intervention on the pregnant uterus;
  2. Amenorrhea and polymenorrhea.

Contraindications:

  1. Pregnancy (except for cases of recurrent miscarriage in the first half of pregnancy);
  2. Cholestatic jaundice (history of pregnancy);
  3. Liver cirrhosis, benign hyperbilirubinemia, severe liver failure;
  4. Neoplasms of the genital organs and mammary glands;
  5. Tendency to thrombosis.

Side effect:

  1. Nausea, vomiting, uterine bleeding, peripheral edema, paresthesia, weight gain, increased fatigue, tachycardia, allergic reactions (skin rash);
  2. Excessive amounts of progestogens can cause virialization of the female fetus (up to gender uncertainty).

Interaction:

  1. Changes the effects of hypoglycemic agents, oral anticoagulants, corticosteroids (combine with caution);
  2. Progestational activity is reduced by inducers of microsomal oxidation (barbiturates, hydantoins, rifampicin, etc.).
