Dosage forms - oil injection solution 250 mg
Composition - Active ingredient - Hydroxyprogesterone.
Indications for use:
- Insufficiency of the corpus luteum: habitual and threatened miscarriage (prevention), the need for surgical intervention on the pregnant uterus;
- Amenorrhea and polymenorrhea.
Contraindications:
- Pregnancy (except for cases of recurrent miscarriage in the first half of pregnancy);
- Cholestatic jaundice (history of pregnancy);
- Liver cirrhosis, benign hyperbilirubinemia, severe liver failure;
- Neoplasms of the genital organs and mammary glands;
- Tendency to thrombosis.
Side effect:
- Nausea, vomiting, uterine bleeding, peripheral edema, paresthesia, weight gain, increased fatigue, tachycardia, allergic reactions (skin rash);
- Excessive amounts of progestogens can cause virialization of the female fetus (up to gender uncertainty).
Interaction:
- Changes the effects of hypoglycemic agents, oral anticoagulants, corticosteroids (combine with caution);
- Progestational activity is reduced by inducers of microsomal oxidation (barbiturates, hydantoins, rifampicin, etc.).
