Ultra High Frequency Oscillations

Ultra-high frequency oscillations (microwave) are electromagnetic oscillations with a frequency from 300 MHz to 300 GHz. They are in the range between infrared radiation and radio waves.

Microwave waves have unique properties. They can propagate in waveguides and in open space. When contacted with a conductor, microwaves cause the appearance of high-frequency currents. This property is used in microwave electronics.

Microwave radiation is used in radars, satellite communications, television, microwave ovens, medicine and other fields. Microwave ovens are used to quickly cook and defrost food. In medicine, microwave therapy helps in the treatment of many diseases.

Research in the field of microwaves is ongoing, expanding the areas of application of these unique waves. A promising direction is the use of microwaves in wireless transmission of energy over a distance.
